Why no line on this fight? Im really interested to see this, as Moorer seems to be in better shape than his last fight. I still think Jirov out works him and stops him late or wins a decision. The guy is tough as nails.

You answered your own question. HOW CAN ONE EXPECT TO PLAY DARTS AND MAKE A NUMBER ON A GUY THAT HAS WEIGHT FLUCTUATIONS OF 60-100 POUNDS BTWN BOUTS , WITHOUT FINDING OUT A BALLPARK WEIGHT 1ST. I CANT SPEAK FOR THE NORMAL COPYCAT BOOKS, BUT THIS GUY ISNT HANGING A NUMBER UNTILL 2MMROW.:nono5:

maybe it`s just me,but,i think it`s probably a good idea for joey to hang the line before you tell him who you like....

It don't really matter. I know for a fact that Joey looks at a lot of boxing boards. There are all kinds of opinions on fights before they happen but in the end his own opinion is more important than anyone elses. Maybe mine being 2nd most important :smoker2:

what i`m saying is,i don`t care how joey and you (valdosta) shade this issue.....it`s the players against the house....joey`s interested in taking people`s money....we`re interested in taking his book`s money(i don`t play with pinny)....i don`t care about even money and collecting juice....we and the book want to be on the right end of a bout...

that`s it in a nutshell...

to the football and baseball players out there.....how many times have you called your book and asked,"i like the patriots....what`s the line on the pat`s /bengals game?"...

i`ll bet the answer is zero.....and if that`s how you play,you`re probably in the midst of an ether binge......

LOL, well I am a player. I don't work for anyone (unfortunantely). I was just saying opinions are a dime a dozen, you can find them anywhere. ****, in some forums they speculate on what the actual line will be (boxingtalk). It really don't matter. Bookies go against the public opinion a lot anyways.

I feel the same was as sphincter about keeping hush hush until a line posts. Long story short....I think that opinions here can and do influence lines.

I favor just requesting a line and not indicating at all who I like in a fight, even if it should be obvious. We need all the edge we can get.

It aint a rant, youre exactly right. I personally am not going to comment on a fight until I see a number up on it. Joey is the man. Pinny gets their lines from him and theyre the first ones to put up fight lines usually. Then the other books bite off Pinny. Us coming out and talking about who we like in a fight is like showing your hand in a poker game. Am I saying that Joey thinks were studs and worships are handicapping ability? No. But if he doesnt respect some of the opinions of guys on this board he wouldnt be posting here. If a bunch of us start talking about a fight before theres a number up on it and everybodys saying we're gonna hammer this guy if we see a decent number on him its BS to say that cant possibly influence the number Joey comes out with. It at the very least could possibly have a subconscience effect on what Joey comes up with.

I'm sure theres alot of times when it wouldnt but to say its not possible for him to see that a bunch of us are ready to pounce on a guy when we see a number up and it could no way effect his number is bullsh!t. And dont give me that I dont bet big enough BS Joey. I bet a nickel on a fight at Pinny and the line jumps like I just threw 10k on it.

I guess I gotta wait til the line comes out on a fight though. Spinch wont give me his email address so I can confer with him.

Not to insult you, but I don't think you guys here or at any of forums make up 1% of the volume I write across the board. Secondly, I dont look at other books numbers untill I make my own. So outside of the very very very few guys I do respect, I could care less b/c a good line gets 2 way action an anyways..............BOOKMAKING 101. What's really funny is 3/5 guys that post opinions dont even bet. They are pretty much fulla ****.

I expected more maturity, go figure.

Almly, we posted at the same time. I like Jirov, you privately told me you liked Moorer. If Moorere weighs a asshair over 245 Jirovs the favorite.

Based on this small sample size, I would have to strongly disagree with that assesment.

Even in the Braithwaite fight...it seems as if the only reason he is slightly favored is because he has been more active and visible in the past 2 years. I think that Mormeck may have a very good shot at beating him. I am not all that impressed with Braithwaite's boxing ability as he takes on Mormeck. This will be a very tough fight for Braithwaite. I think public opinion matters very much.

Although I think Hatton and Freitas should win their bouts, I just would not feel comfortable laying those odds. Will they get much action on those lines? I am guessing that they won't. But those lines have to be influenced heavily by public opinion. They may as well not even have a line. But at least this way they can say that they posted a line on the fight.

They have Marquez favored over Manny and I'm sure most people think Manny will beat him in their rematch.

I was messing with ya Joey when I told you I like Moore. Youre a boxing guy - were boxing guys. Were all guys who share a love of truly the greatest sport there is. Five years ago I didnt know sh!t about boxing and was into hoops, fball, and baseball. Now Ive lost my appreciation of those silly sports.

If Pinny isnt the first book to post lines which book is? Aces or sportsbook? I've checked those out and Pinny and 5dimes have the most fight lines and props out of any book I've seen. I've just noticed that usually 5dimes posts lines after Pinny. If Pinny isnt the book who posts fight lines first where can I see a Jirov vs Moore line? I'm sure Pinny will post one tomorrow.

Anyway, you cant be a stranger. You gotta show me a good time my first weekend in San Jose.

Let's see half the posters as therx like DLH and the other half likes Hopkins. "Let's open it at -115/-115 - gee wiz that was easy" - says Bagels. If you think about what I said you'll realize its the same fukking thing I was saying . By saying we "like" a guy in a fight and are going to bet him can be used to forecast which fighter is gonna get heavy action. If everybody on here says theyre on one guy someone who posts fight lines can take it into small consideration. Thats all were saying. Common sense tells you that its probably not in our best interest to say "hey Joey we're all over Courtney Burton, when you gonna come out with a line"? Thats the only thing we're saying. Its not even a big deal so I dont know why were arguing about it.

Youre number one priority should be getting a win under your belt. Youve had a rough time since you started posting.
